(Russian River)
The Gold Ridge vineyard, located in the northern end of Green Valley sub-appellation of the Russian River, holds a special place in our hearts. The creation of the wine is an homage to the classic Pinots of western Sonoma. The Gold Loam soil specific to this site hold very little water and create huge stress on the vines, creating a deep, powerful wine with terrific intensity on the nose, showcasing aromas of reduced black cherry, late summer plums, and Cola. The elegant yet powerful nose leads into a pallet of plush and dense blackberry, rhubarb, and damp forest floor. Firm tannins provide for an elevating finish of cedar and coffee.
